"The Artist Box" inside

"The Artist Box" backside

"The Artist Box" front side

For the past couple of weeks I have had my students in my 3D art class create these "Art Boxes". They were to find between 50 to 100 pictures which show their exterior self and their interior self. They then decoupaged these images onto boxes. They had to be thoughtful about how they and others perceive themselves on the outside. The inside of the box was their inside self or subconscious self. It has been interesting to see how teenagers perceive themselves. Some feel comfortable and sure of themselves, while others are very conscious about what others think.

Very cool!! Lots of VanGogh there, with a touch of Poe? :) This would be fun to do.
